"Another concern from many bowlers.
Why does Bowls South Africa say that people will need to get new bowls or have them stamped when they do not give details of where and how the bowls could be stamped. Is the facility available in South Africa?
This is causing confusion to many players. Most players cannot afford to buy new bowls so would prefer to have old bowls tested and stamped rather."

This is a very important point and it affects a lot of bowlers. Bowls SA should take the writers concerns very seriously and give a clear and concise reply, including recommendations on how and where to have the bowls stamped and checked. My information is that there is no facility available in SA to have this done so it is mischievous by Bowls SA to place the onus on the bowler when they know full well that the facility is not available to most bowlers.
The majority of bowlers play mainly at their clubs and, quite rightly, clubs are not interested in policing us.
I would recommend that only players who represent their districts and country be required to conform to these rules.
Could it be that the bowls manufacturers are behind the enforcement of these rules - just a thought!
