SadEGB pays its District Officer, Ron Slack, R8000pm. When you try to get information out of him or recommend a course of action you either do not get a reply, or you get a sarcastic answer. He lives up to his surname. He certainly does not earn his money.
It appears tp me that 'superskip' may have an legitimate grudge against the EGB District Officer but I wornder if this forum is the place for personal attacks and for the revelation of one's earnings.
Perhaps ther write might look at how he/she might feel having his own failings and earnings aired in a public forum and then perhaps retract his/her remarks.
I know that we have said members may remain anonymous but I do not think it should be used to make personal attacks.
John

I agree with your comments on this matter superskip protects him/herself with an alias while personally attacking a man who has contributed so much to the sport of bowls over the years.
I do not know all of Ron's history from the NERBA days but he served as the first President of the unified EGB district with distinction.
Ron is also a Honorary life member of the district so I am sure he made many contributions to the administration of the previous known NERBA.

I am new to administration in bowls and I have needed alot of guidance and advice over the past couple of months when ever I have asked Ron for assistance he has been very helpful and more than willing to help

Superskip

I am sure this is a personal matter between you and Ron that maybe you should sort out in person not on this forum
Thanks John and Wade for your comments.
I am flattered that the writer allocates the District Officer such a salary. The District Council Club delegates would be dumbfounded! They are the officers who approve District expenses.
I do not defend myself for any actions of the past, and it is baffling that anyone could be so offended that a forum such as this is used to air the grievance. Good luck to "SUPER?" skip.
EG Bowls is a proud association that manages the Sport of Bowls in Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality. The Constitution was endorsed by 31 Clubs being affiliated to EG Bowls and each Executive member and the Admin Officer is obliged to follow the rules established in that Constitution.
Information is distributed to all affiliated Clubs for dissemination to Club members. Changes to the way bowls issues are handled by the Executive are only changed at the Council Meetings through proposal and acceptance by a majority vote from the affiliated Clubs. The latest Saturday League scoring system is an example.
The District Officer carries out the instructions of the Council and the Executive.
With this educational reply I rest my case.
Call me anytime to assist you about the happenings in EG Bowls for other issues ask your Club to present the case to the Council Meeting.
Good Bowling to All.

Only just registered as a member on yourbowls.com and I was astounded to read this mail.
Ron - you have been a great help to me and our "little" club in the past and may you continue to do wonderful work for EGB.

Hi SuperSkip, Its pleasing to see that you have taken others comments and noted them.
I have dealt with Ron for a fair amount of time and must say I have found Ron to only be a gentleman at all times and a person who has bowls at heart.

With an MBA , I don't think he is useless.
On the positive side , well done for apologizing. It seems to be in the interest of the game.
Yours in Sport Tom
