John, I have read your article in the Citizen regarding the 6 coaches who have undergone intensive training in Bloemfontein to qualify themselves as Level 3 Coaches without so much as a word from the SA Bowls on their achievement.
Firstly I would like to say that I read all your articles in the Citizen and agree that you are fearless, but fair, in what you consider to be the wrongs done to bowlers.
I enjoy your perception of what goes on in the world of bowls and I am sure that many people have the same perception.
For all the members that belong to this forum....do yourself a favour and read John's column in the Citizen newspaper. You will receive a wealth of understanding and I am sure you will find it very interesting.
I normally discuss John's latest column over the weekend at our bowls club with some of our members and am astounded that so few people are aware that this bowls column in the newspaper and this forum even exist.
I think that by making more people aware of this we would be able to receive more feedback from members which in turn could put a bit of pressure back on to Bowls South Africa (and possibly districts) to publish results, events, etc.
I know that Northmead Bowling Club's website has a link to EGB happenings and results and possibly there are a few other websites up and running for other districts but from the discussions I have had there is no awareness of any of this??? Makes one think!!
I would love to hear the comments from other members about this topic.
I only became aware of John's article about three months ago but have bookmarked it and read it every Friday now. I agree with you, though. The more bowlers who are aware of what's going on and participate in discussion, the better for the sport.
